enlightenment

i read a poem yesterday. i loved it. best poem i've ever read. no joke.
and it goes a little something like this:

that pretty girl
the one i saw on a sunny windy day
caught the corner of my eye
as her hair swayed in the wind
so beautiful as to make my heart skip a beat
lost for words, i couldnt even speak
She said she didnt like the wind
i said i didnt mind
seeing her unique smile and pretty face
i just had to pick her on my team for the day
but i didnt see her much as we parted ways
made the blood rush in my veins

The days gone by and it became colder
i only seen her on special days of the week
that one and that one place i made myself attend
it was only to see her and get closer maybe

But no we're only friends
no step closer to that special day
Twas only a crush and no more
She's a good one alright
i could talk to her till days end
a friendly person she is
i look forward to just seeing her face for the day
she walks by each day and i catch a glimpse
after a days hard work i hope to see her again
a day away from her
is just another chance
to meet all over again

i don't write poems often, but after reading this poem, i'm inspired to write more of my own.
